Affiliated Organizations
Many organizations and groups are associated directly or indirectly with Rotary Botanical Gardens.
Local:
- Janesville Rotary Club
- Janesville Area Herb Society
- Rock Prairie Master Gardener Association: Master Gardener Volunteers (MGV) wear many hats throughout the Gardens, including grounds maintenance, administrative tasks, special events, and education. The Master Gardener Volunteer program is coordinated by UW-Extension.
Primary MGV roles include:
- Sunday Watering: On Sundays since 2005, MGVs have watered the containers throughout the Gardens. This major project gives grounds crew a day off and helps direct paid staff time to other projects Monday through Saturday.
- Plant Health Advising: MGVs staff the education room and answer garden related questions from both the grounds and abroad. More details listed on the Garden Help section of the Rock County UW-Extension webpage, here.
- Garden Festival: The Rock Prairie Associations major educational event, MGVs coordinate a multi-entity effort in order to bring the annual event to the region. Includes taste testing, food demonstrations, arts & crafts, stuff for the kids and much more.
