This may be good in photography...should be toxic content for children to strictly stay away.
Nyc Mold Inspections

sometimes photography can really be deceiving...a dog vomit can look cool like some newly grown flower bunch. But there may be toxic content in here...better to keep children away from them specially tasting them.

Mold Removal

Thanks for the wonderful comments. I'll post photos shortly of the building. I used to use a 3" auger to drill individual tulip holes in the fall. We now plant 25 per larger (shovel-dug) hole and that "bouquet effect" works well.

After seeing your photo yesterday of the tulips in front of the visitor's center, I decided to stop by and see. All I can say is, WOW! The tulip colors, set against the varied conifers, are SO beautiful! Really amazing. The garden truly is a treasure. Thanks for your photos. As I walked around the garden, I noticed many flowers I have never seen, and might not have noticed, if I hadn't seen them on your blog. You should post a shot of the whole front of the building... it's too pretty to miss.

We had the same experience here at the gardens with bulk compost and subsequent weed issues and I attribute it to a pile that didn't develop enough heat (to kill dormant seeds). I hope I'm not in trouble at home with that situation. The other approach could be to use a pre-emergent control like Preen in conjunction with the application of the compost, thereby keeping the seeds from actively developing. Timing would be important but if you intend to avoid chemicals, you would have to verify that the bulk compost is from an older, frequently "turned" pile. Good observation and I agree with your thoughts on our plasticized world!
