Let your senses be filled as you serenely stroll through the Gardens. Your eyes taking in the beauty of the foliage and your ears hearing the melodic notes of harp, violin, flute, and other live classical instruments as they immerse the Gardens in the world’s best-loved classics.
Admission is free for Rotary Botanical Gardens members; for non-members, the concert series is included with the general admission fee.

The Southern Wisconsin Dulcimer Club promotes the playing of dulcimers and the joy of playing in a group. We meet the 2nd Saturday of the month from 10:00 to 11:30 AM in the Fireplace Room at Hedberg Public Library in Janesville. Whether you play mountain dulcimer, hammered dulcimer, bowed dulcimer, guitar, ukulele, or another acoustic instrument, you are welcome to join us.

Justin Sundlin is a 26-year-old guitarist from Janesville, Wisconsin. In 2019, Justin graduated from UW Oshkosh in classical guitar performance. Justin appreciates a variety of composers from many eras of Western art music. Some composers he has studied include Luigi Legnani, Leo Brouwer, and Erik Satie
Performing on the Observation Deck
Fran Thorpe Peyer owns Empire of Janesville, LLC which offers lessons in all genres of music. She teaches vocal, guitar, piano, bass guitar, ukulele, songwriting, music theory and acting classes online. Fran has performed locally, she has also performed in Europe the Middle East and in New York City, where she was born and raised. Fran has been a private performing arts instructor since 1981 and a member of SAG AFTRA and AEA. She began her performing arts career at the age of 3. Fran has worked as a vocal and musical director and playwright with SOK and as an instructor at UW Rock County. She has directed and performed in many musicals and some film and TV and produced and has written songs for CDs and musicals. Fran has also judged many local contests and is a master adjudicator for WSMA.
Performing in the English Cottage Garden
Martha Morehart holds a Master’s in applied viola from Ohio University, and a Bachelor’s in applied viola from Houghton University (NY) She has performed in community orchestras throughout the Midwest and most recently in the Beloit Janesville Symphony. Martha is a big believer in the uplifting power of music both for the performer and the listener, so she keeps up a regular schedule of playing solos and chamber music in churches, schools and at gatherings. She also maintains a private string studio for students preschool through adult, where she blends Suzuki and traditional pedagogy.

Alison Jewer is a string professional inspired by all classical repertoires. She has performed with symphony orchestras and groups such as Choral Union and Cargill United Methodist Church choir. Alison is inspired to play for the sheer joy of playing classical music and a love of performing for audiences.
