Shirley, seen planting above, was one of over thirty volunteers we saw on a very well attended Thursday. How’s this for a list…Shirley, Marilyn, Suzy, Kathy P., Eva, Vicky, Kathy, Karen, Cheryl P., Cheryl D., Ron Y., Ron P., Ron R., Bob C., Dick P., Dick H., Dr. Gredler, Rollie, Steve, Vern, Dave T., Larry O., Roy, Mary W., Hal, Doris, Sandi, Maury, Bill O., Dave #2 and anyone I forgot… Needless to say, lots of projects were accomplished including weeding, planting, sweeping, mulching, sculpture set-up, gas run, vehicle repairs, watering, etc. Some of the highlights can be seen below. We also saw Mary Kay, Zane, Lisa I. and many others.
The grounds staff of Big John, Larry H., Cindy, Trevor, Bobby K., Nolan and myself all kept busy with a wide range of projects. Most of our effort continue to focus on preparations for planting, removing bulb foliage and watering. Our focus on collections, including the Giant Aquarium, Hummingbird Haven, Heirloom Garden, etc. Great team efforts today all around! Today was also the last day of the Plant Program and our education volunteers did a stellar job for sure. We’re getting ready for a successful (we hope) planting workday this Saturday, June 4th from 8 am until 12 noon….volunteers needed (donuts provided)!!!
