Sustainable Janesville Award (2022)
- Award Recipient: Michael Jesiolowski, Director of Horticulture.
- The Sustainable Janesville Awards program rewards, recognizes and promotes innovation and leadership in sustainability by businesses, community groups and individual citizens of the City of Janesville.
- Awards are given to those that have demonstrated a commitment to sustainability, have shown continuous improvement in their sustainability efforts, or have shown achievement in a sustainability related issue.
- Michael received this distinction for his innovation and leadership in sustainability efforts at Rotary Botanical Gardens. The “Go Green Initiatives” that Michael has led include transitioning to a higher percentage of perennial plants, avoiding the use of phosphate-rich fertilizers, transitioning from gas to battery-powered tools, and using alternatives to chemicals in the gardens.
