Want to add some new varieties to your seed collection? Connect with others in the local gardening community? Share some favorite seeds with others, find new favorites, and save some money in the process? Join us for our first-ever Super Saturday Seed Swap!

Celebrate spring with our Inaugural Super Seed (and Plant!) Swap Saturday. Trade your extra seed for something new and see it grow in your garden this year. Have a houseplant that you no longer have room for? Bring it in to find a new home for it!

Rotary Botanical Gardens will also be giving away a variety of vegetable and flower seed during the swap.

The swap will take place from 10-11am, but you will want to stick around at 11am to see a presentation by our Director of Horticulture, Michael Jesiolowski. He will get us ready for spring by talking about some of the recent garden development and plans for the 2023 growing season.

What you need to do:

1. Register for the event (optional, see below) Note: Registration not required.
2. If your bringing seeds to swap or to donate please follow these guidelines:
   1. Separate seeds to allow air circulation. To keep from damaging the seeds, dry them out of direct sunlight. Drying the seeds induces dormancy. Allow one week.
   2. Keep the seeds in a dark, dry location (32-41°F).
   3. Bring cleaned (chaff free) seed that is no more than 2 years old.
   4. Package them in mini zip top or manila coin envelopes (purchase online or at hobby stores).
   5. Minimum of 20 seeds per packet (for large seeds or ⅛ teaspoon for tiny seeds).
3. Label the packets with:
   1. Name of plant and variety
   2. Basic growing info
   3. Email address so recipient can ask questions
4. Bring a bag or container to take your packets home
