Enjoy our Summer Concert Series on select Sunday afternoons

Let your senses be filled as you serenely stroll through the Gardens. Your eyes taking in the beauty of the foliage and your ears hearing the melodic notes of harp, violin, flute, and other live classical instruments as they immerse the Gardens in the world’s best-loved classics.

Admission is free for Rotary Botanical Gardens members; for non-members, the concert series is included with the general admission fee.

Musicians will be located in the English Cottage Garden, Japanese Garden, Sunken Garden, Observation Pier, & Gazebo Garden.

Nanette FelixNanette Felix, Harpist

Nanette Felix is a vivacious and charming performer. Her repertoire encompasses a variety of classical, popular, jazz, and rock & roll literature. Nanette has achieved recognition not only for her performance as principal harpist for the Dubuque and Rockford Symphony Orchestras but also for her appearances with other prominent orchestras including the Peoria Symphony, Evansville Philharmonic, Indianapolis Civic Symphony, The Chattanooga Opera Association and the Quad City Symphony. Other intriguing performances have been with rock and roll legends Rick Nielson of Cheap Trick, the Moddy Blues, Ray Charles and Doc Severinsen,

Martha Morehart, Violin

Martha MorehartMartha Morehart holds a Master’s in applied viola from Ohio University, and a Bachelor’s in applied viola from Houghton University (NY) She has performed in community orchestras throughout the Midwest and most recently in the Beloit Janesville Symphony. Martha is a big believer in the uplifting power of music both for the performer and the listener, so she keeps up a regular schedule of playing solos and chamber music in churches, schools and at gatherings. She also maintains a private string studio for students preschool through adult, where she blends Suzuki and traditional pedagogy. “Music has been my lifelong friend,” says Martha. “Whether I’m alone of with others, music comforts me, calms me dawn and fires me up! Music makes the day better.”

The Sobacki FamilyEmily, Isla, and Ari Sobacki, Violins and Guitar / The Sobacki Family

The Sobacki Family shares a passion for music and the arts both onstage and at home. Emily is an accomplished violinist. She has performed with regional orchestras including the Beloit Janesville Symphony Orchestra and the Lake Geneva Symphony Orchestra. She enjoys chamber music collaborations and playing electric violin in rock bands.

Isla and Ari Sobacki study classical guitar under the guidance of Laura Knight at the Knight Music Academy in Lake Zurich, IL. Isla, a 7th grader, plays percussion in her school band and sings in the choir. Ari, a 3rd grader, enjoys running, math, and playing video games. The siblings are also dedicated dancers and study at The Dance Factory in Delavan, WI.

Silver Morning DuoSilver Morning Dou, Flute and Guitar

Berlinda Lopez and Steve Waugh formed the flute and guitar duo, Silver Morning. Berlinda holds a Doctor of Musical Arts Degree from UW-Madison as well as two other music degrees from the University of Texas. She is the first Artistic Director of the Wisconsin Flute Festival. She has performed with Madison Savoyards, Inc., Madison Symphony Orchestra, Wisconsin Chamber Orchestra and Janesville Armory Dinner Theatre. Currently she is Co-Artistic Director of the Madison Flute Club Adult Choir and performs with Beloit Janesville Symphony Orchestra, Edgewood Chamber Orchestra, Fresco Opera, Pegasus Wind Symphony, Spring Night Flutes, as well as Silver Morning. Steve Waugh studied classical guitar with Javier Calderon at UW-Madison. He performs in the Molly Nova band as well as with Silver Morning.
