Join us for Rotary Botanical Gardens first BioBlitz!

A BioBlitz is an event that focuses on finding and identifying as many species as possible in a specific area over a short period of time. A Bioblitz is also known as a biological inventory or biological census. The primary goal of a BioBlitz is to get an overall count of the plants, animals, fungi, and other organisms that live in a place.

We will kick-off the event with a short introduction on a BioBlitz and the corresponding app, iNaturalist. Participants must download the app on their smartphone to participate in this event. While this is a family-friendly offering, this event is most suitable for kids 8+.

This event can be treated like an open house, feel free to join us any time during the day, 8am-6:30pm, but we will only host 1 introduction. So, if you are new to a BioBlitz we strongly encourage you to come at 8am so we can walk through the app and help you get set up for the event.

Please note, in the event of inclement weather we will move the BioBlitz to our rain date, Sunday, June 23. Those who RSVP in advance will be notified by phone or email if we move the program to the scheduled rain date.
